All About the Job

Family Concierge is seeking a discreet, detail-obsessed full-time Housekeeper to support a dynamic, warm, homeschooling family based in the historic East Avenue neighborhood of Rochester, New York. The family currently has two school-aged children, one infant, and will be welcoming a new baby in June 2026. Mom is home full-time, nursing and homeschooling, and both grandmothers are very involved with the family.

The family is looking for a seasoned household professional experienced with working in luxury hospitality or HNW/UHNW private homes who can take full ownership of the home’s cleanliness, organization, and laundry so the parents and grandparents can focus on caregiving and homeschooling. This is a true right hand in the home role for someone who loves creating hotel-level order in a lived-in, child-filled environment.

The family spends the winter months (typically December through April) in South America, and the ideal candidate will have the ability to travel with them during these periods. With that in mind, all candidates must have a valid passport to be considered for this role. Additionally, the family strongly prefers candidates who are fluent in Spanish, as they are raising their children to be bilingual.

What You’ll Do

Daily Housekeeping & Home Organization

  • Maintain a consistently clean, tidy, and welcoming home in a busy homeschooling environment
  • Design, implement, and maintain highly functional and intuitive organizational systems to support the family's lifestyle, ensuring an effective "home for everything"
  • Proactively coach and guide the children during transitions, encouraging them to put items away to build independence and a sense of pride in their home environment
  • Complete daily dishes, kitchen cleanup, and general tidying in high-traffic areas (kitchen, living areas, homeschool spaces)
  • Make beds daily and refresh bedrooms so they feel calm and orderly
  • Empty household trash and recycling daily and keep bins organized and sanitary
  • Rotate through detail oriented, deep cleaning tasks to ensure all areas of the home are addressed over the course of each week

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

  • Manage high-volume family laundry using two machines, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and putting away
  • Keep clothing, linens, and towels organized, neatly stored, and easy for the family to access
  • Maintain systems for children s clothing (sizes, outgrown items, seasonal storage) to reduce clutter
  • Help children manage their personal items by assisting with putting away laundry and maintaining neat, organized wardrobes
  • Treat stains and care for delicate or special-care items as needed

Deep Cleaning & Maintenance Routines

  • Perform weekly deep cleaning of bathrooms and other key spaces on a structured rotation
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish surfaces and fixtures to maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • Proactively move furniture to ensure a thorough cleaning of all areas, including under and behind objects, leaving no spot overlooked
  • Keep an eye on the big picture of the home’s condition and proactively flag anything needing attention (repairs, replacements, professional services)

Home Organization & Support for Homeschooling Life

  • Help organize books, toys, and homeschool materials; keep learning spaces orderly and reset daily
  • Work one-on-one with children to tidy their rooms, bookshelves, and toy areas, teaching them age-appropriate responsibility and systems
  • Assist with organizing closets, pantries, and storage areas so the home runs efficiently

Kitchen & Light Meal Support

  • Assist with basic meal prep and simple family-friendly cooking when requested (especially helpful during postpartum and busy homeschool seasons)
  • Keep the kitchen, fridge, and pantry clean, organized, and well-stocked with household basics (family will determine shopping/ordering systems)

Occasional Childcare Support

  • Provide short-term care for the youngest baby when a grandmother is unavailable and Mom needs to step out briefly
  • Maintain a calm, attentive presence with infants primarily holding, watching, and keeping them safe in the home environment
  • No regular homeschooling responsibilities and no routine sole charge of all four children is expected; childcare is secondary to housekeeping and only as needed

Seasonal Travel

  • Travel with the family to South America approximately December-April
  • Maintain daily order and routines in the family’s South America home, working alongside a local cleaner for heavy tasks as set by the family
  • Assist with packing, unpacking, and keeping travel wardrobes organized
  • Support smooth transitions between Rochester and Uruguay, helping the home feel move-in ready on both ends

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, service-minded professional who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful home and thrives in an environment with children and multi-generational family involvement. In addition, we are hoping to meet candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold 5-7 years in private homes, luxury hospitality (boutique hotels, private clubs, estate homes), or HNW/UHNW households
  • Love systems, routines, and creating order out of constant activity
  • A willingness to involve children in maintaining their home, fostering a sense of pride and ownership in their belongings
  • Highly efficient with high-volume laundry and can keep clothing and linens looking their best
  • Comfortable working in a private, values-driven home where confidentiality and professionalism are essential
  • Comfortable with and unfazed by homes with active children, homeschooling, family visits, and the everyday bustle of a large household
  • Genuinely excited about extended international stays and able to adapt your routines to a second home abroad
  • Enjoy being part of a team, and you communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Fluent in Spanish, with an interest in helping children learn and practice Spanish is a bonus.

The family is hoping to find a candidate who is looking for a stable, long-term position with the flexibility to travel for several months per year.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5 years of professional housekeeping experience in luxury private homes and/or high-end hospitality; experience with HNW/UHNW families strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing laundry and home organization for busy families
  • Strong references from previous long-term employers or properties
  • Comfort working in a home with young children and infants (even though childcare is not the primary focus)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items (laundry baskets, supplies, etc.) and navigate a multi-story home as part of daily work
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid U.S. passport or willingness to obtain/renew
  • Valid drivers license, a clean driving record, and access to safe and reliable transportation
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for up to 3-4 months per year, with additional domestic or international travel as needed.
  • Commitment to legal, on-the-books employment and background screening

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to step into a thoughtfully structured, long-term position with a family that truly values the impact of excellent household support. You’ll have the chance to:

  • Build a deep, trusting relationship with a family who sees you as a partner, not just help
  • Maintain a beautiful home in one of Rochester’s most iconic neighborhoods
  • Experience extended international travel
  • Bring your luxury hospitality or high-end housekeeping background into a stable, family-centered environment

If you are a meticulous, travel-ready housekeeper who loves creating order and supporting families behind the scenes, this could be an exceptional fit.

Interested applicants may create a profile on our website at famconcierge.com to be considered. All applications should include:

  • A current resume highlighting your professional housekeeping and/or luxury hospitality experience
