We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our busy family practice. Responsibilities
· Room patients and obtain accurate medical histories.
· Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, height and weight.
· Verify medications, update allergies, and reconcile patient information.
· Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring their comfort.
· Assist providers with office procedures and patient care.
· Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments within scope of practice.
· Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as assigned.
· Document patient encounters accurately using our EMR (Epic).
· Maintain exam rooms by stocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, and following infection control protocols.
· Support patient scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination as needed.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance and assist in providing a safe, efficient clinical environment.
· Work collaboratively with providers and staff to maintain excellent patient flow and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
· Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred (or eligible based on experience)
· Family Practice experience preferred
· Experience with Epic EMR is a plus
· Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
· Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
· Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
· Professional, compassionate, and dependable with a positive attitude
