FCA is seeking a Residential Counselor for our transitional independent living program that prepares homeless adolescents and young adults, ages 16-20 for independent living.
Responsibilities
- Provide informal counseling to residents and assist them in planning and reviewing their contracts and goals as well as providing them with life skills training.
- Orient new clients to house rules and regulations, and ensure youth have adequate personal care items.
- Supervise residents with daily activities
- Perform inside and outside security checks and conduct fire drills.
- Complete and Maintain necessary paperwork (petty cash, sign out, receipts, logs, resident files, etc)
- Assume other tasks as needed to ensure the effective operation of the program.
- High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with adolescents required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills with MS Office required.
- Valid and clean driver's license required.
