Per Diem Family Peer Support Services Worker

Location: Garden City, NY | Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary Range: $22/hour

The Opportunity

Family and Children’s Association (FCA) is seeking Credentialed Family Peer Advocates to join our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) Program. In this role, Family Peer Advocates will provide client-centered support to families caring for youth experiencing social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges across home, school, placement, or community settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home and community visits to educate clients on parenting techniques and advocacy skills.
• Assist families in accessing community resources to enhance their support networks.
• Facilitate groups, family engagement activities, and networking opportunities for clients.
• Complete and submit all required documentation, including development and safety plans, session notes, and discharge plans, in compliance with funding and agency guidelines.
• Collaborate with Case Managers on shared cases to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Maintain timely and accurate records in accordance with program requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations effectively.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a child with social, emotional, behavioral, mental health, or developmental disabilities.
• Provisional Certification required, with Professional Family Peer Advocate credential to be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
