What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foster Care Support Group position at Family & Children's Aid?
FCA offers a Foster Care Support Group for foster, adoptive, and biological children of foster and adoptive parents. The Support Group Staff provides a safe, secure and enriching environment for children while parents attend monthly training. The group consists of up to 20 children ranging in age from 24 months to 14 years old. The group gathers one evening a month from 6pm-8pm at a local church in Torrington. Children get to enjoy choice/free play, organized activity, snack/meal time, and more with supportive supervision from Support Group Staff.
Available Shifts:
· Last Thursday of the month: 6pm - 8pm
Pay rate:
· $60 per group/meeting
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate and communicate with group facilitator, biological families, adoptive families, foster families, and children.
· De-escalate emotional and behavioral problems that may arise.
· Provide direct supervision during structured activities.
· Interact with youth at a developmentally appropriate level, including engaging in planned activities
Requirements:
· Must be at least 21 years of age
