The purpose of the ASPIRE Summer Program is to provide hands on educational and learning for middle school students (who are clients in FCA’s ASPIRE after school program). The goal is to have the students engaged in cross-curriculum activities that are interesting and fun while broadening their exposure to various educational and cultural activities. The ASPIRE summer program internship gives the intern exposure to a social service agency.   Interns provide hands on educational learning for middle school students (who are clients in FCA’s ASPIRE after school program). The goal is to have the students engaged in cross-curriculum activities that are interesting and fun while broadening their exposure to various educational and cultural activities. This program serves approximately 50 students ages 10-14, many of whom have multiple barriers to success.  Interns have a key leadership role with the ASPIRE staff and work on developing the summer curriculum, executing lessons, helping students learn life skills, chaperoning field trips and assisting with student events.
