Title: Epic Business Intelligence Analyst

Position: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, non-exempt (hourly)
Job Summary:
The overarching goal of the position is to analyze clinical data for the purpose of imagining, proposing, and implementing missed or newly realized opportunities for Family Care Network. Under general supervision, the Epic Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) creates analytic content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. The BIA will extract clinical and financial data from disparate sources, inspect, clean, and model the data to identify potential business opportunities for further exploration.
Compensation: The full wage scales are as follows:
Epic Business Intelligence Analyst I is $31.70 to $47.58.
Epic Business Intelligence Analyst II is $32.97 to $49.48.
Epic Business Intelligence Analyst Senior is $34.24 to $51.38
Epic Business Intelligence Developer I
Minimum 2 years previous Data and Business Analyst or Business Intelligence Developer experience preferred demonstrating proficiency in SQL, an understanding of the architecture and structure of data and exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
Epic Business Intelligence Developer II
Possesses Epic certification/accreditation in the application. *An external candidate will be placed in the position tier based upon the applicability of previous work experience.
Epic Business Intelligence Developer Senior
Minimum 5 years experience as an Epic Business Intelligence Developer II at FCN* with a broad understanding, expertise, and certification/accreditation in multiple applications. *An external candidate will be placed in the position tier based upon the applicability of previous work experience.

Essential Job Functions
- Configures and tests Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer data models, Radar dashboards, and Cogito SQL
- Creates content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle.
- Writes SQL and configures Radar settings for customer metrics.
- Modifies and maintains reports, as necessary.
- Distributes analytics content to data consumers and reviews peer reports for accuracy.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand user needs.
- Maintains the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata.
- Tests analytics build in test and live environments, including volume testing.
- Reviews upgrade documentation for Clarity and Caboodle; implement applicable changes.
- May be responsible for building and maintaining Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, Third-party Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Custom Epic data in Caboodle.
- Develops, maintains, and performs processes to monitor data quality and integrity.
- Conducts internal and external data validation.
- Coordinates with external and internal partners to verify clinical data relevance.
- Identifies and evaluates external data sources relevant to FCN initiatives.
- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts and decomposes high-level information into details.
- Acts as technical advisor for strategic planning.
- Manages support requests and administrative needs.
- Seeks guidance and asks questions in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Epic Certification/Accreditation & Training Requirements
FCN is committed to investing in the growth and professional development of our all of team. As part of that commitment, we cover the cost of Epic training and certification or accreditation for the BID.
If the BID is not already Epic certified or accredited prior to hire, FCN will provide training at the appropriate time, based on readiness, demonstrated aptitude, and the Epic training schedule. Once training is completed, the BID will have the opportunity to earn the Epic certification or accreditation. While FCN is committed to supporting staff through the certification process, including offering up to two additional attempts if needed, certification is an essential requirement for this role. If a staff member is ultimately unable to achieve certification, FCN may determine that the individual is not able to meet the qualifications necessary for continued success in the position.
If the BID is Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will determine if additional Epic training is required to assure proficiency or currency in the new assigned role and may provide Epic training at the organization’s discretion.
Training Requirements – The Business Intelligence Developer attends the appropriate course track as designated by Epic and Family Care Network.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Math, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years previous Data and Business Developer or Business Intelligence Developer experience preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Epic certification/accreditation within 2 years of employment.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
