What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Cremation Services Driver/Technician position at Family Animal Services?
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and compassionate, full-time team member to join our pet cremation service team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in meaningful work and can support families during difficult times.
Position Overview
This role combines driving responsibilities and crematory operations. You will spend your day completing scheduled pickup routes from veterinary clinics and will work in the crematory facility after returning from your route.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires multitasking, attention to detail, and emotional awareness.
Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (6:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
- Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $20 - $23 per hour
- Merit-Based Increases: Pay increases are awarded based on performance, reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently once fully trained
- Benefits: 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance available after 90 days
Key Responsibilities
- Drive company routes to veterinary clinics to respectfully transport deceased pets
- Carefully maintain accurate records and ensure each pet is handled with the highest level of care and identification accuracy
- Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner
- Operate crematory equipment following training and safety procedures
- Assist families in person and over the phone with compassion and professionalism
- Support overall daily operations in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs regularly (lifting equipment is available)
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail. This is critical to ensure accuracy and proper identification at every step
- Excellent multitasking skills and ability to keep pace with daily workload
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work empathetically with grieving families while maintaining composure
- Drug testing required
