What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Residential Counselor position at Family and Children's Association?
Location: Freeport|Schedule: Full Time, Overnights| Salary:19.83/Hour
The Opportunity
The Overnight Counselor will take an active role in fostering a positive atmosphere for ourtransitional independent living program for young adults, ages 16-20.
Responsibilities
- Provide informal counseling to residents and assist them in planning and reviewing their contracts and goals.
- Supervise residents with daily activities and maintaining responsibilities. Assist clients in obtaining their goals.
- Oversee in-house recreation and interaction of residents.
- Perform inside and out side security checks and conduct fire drills. Maintain necessary paperwork on a regular basis (petty cash, sign outs, time sheet, receipts, logs etc)
- Alert supervisor as to any needs of the residents or house that require attention
- Assume other tasks or responsibilities as needed to ensure the effective operation of the program.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with adolescents required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Valid and clean driver's license
Compensation
