FACT Camp Ambassador & Jr. Ambassador

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:20 AM – 3:40 PM June 15- August 7, 2026
About FACT
Families of Autism Coming Together (FACT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing inclusive, safe, and enriching recreational experiences for individuals with autism. Our summer program, Camp GonnawannaGOagin’, offers campers ages 6 and older the opportunity to participate in activities similar to a traditional day camp while receiving individualized support.
Camp sessions include:
- Swimming (beach, pool, and community facilities)
- Community-based field trips
- Sports and games
- Music and arts
- Social and recreational activities
FACT maintains a 1:1 or 1:2 staff-to-camper ratio to ensure personalized support. Each camper may also be paired with a peer buddy who models social engagement and provides encouragement and inclusion. Our team utilizes autism-informed practices, positive behavior support, and structured communication strategies to ensure campers have a safe, successful, and fun experience.

FACT Camp Ambassador & Jr. Camp Ambassador Responsibilities
Staff members are responsible for ensuring the safety, care, and positive engagement of campers throughout the day.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers and maintaining safety during all activities
- Supporting campers with communication, social interaction, toileting / changing (not for Jr. Ambassadors), and participation
- Facilitating recreational activities and structured routines
- Implementing positive behavior support strategies
- Supporting community outings and field trips to include dressing out and swimming daily
- Collaborating with supervisors and fellow staff members
- Attending daily staff meetings and required training sessions
FACT Camp Ambassador Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Special Education or a related field, OR
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a related field with at least 3 months supervised experience, OR
- High School Diploma
Additional requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older as responsibilities include possible toileting and changing of campers
- Must attend mandatory training
- Must be available for at least two weeks of camp
- Must complete the hiring and screening process
Jr. FACT Camp Ambassador Qualifications (Ages 16–17)
FACT also hires Jr. Ambassadors to support Camp Ambassadors and campers.
Requirements:
- Must be 16 years old on or before the last offered staff training session, June 10
- Must attend mandatory training
- Must be available for at least two weeks of camp
- Must complete the hiring and screening process
- Excused from the toileting and changing tasks of a FACT Camp Ambassador as still considered a minor
Jr. FACT Camp Ambassadors assist FACT Camp Ambassadors with camper supervision, activities, and program support.
Required Screenings and Documentation
All employees must complete required screenings in accordance with youth program safety standards:
- Fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (paid by FACT)
- Sex Offender Registry Check (paid by FACT)
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required screenings and documentation.
