The Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) plays a vital role in supporting clients and their families throughout the course of mental health treatment. Working under the direction of a licensed Mental Health Professional (MHP), the QBHP delivers targeted behavioral interventions, models effective coping strategies, and reinforces treatment objectives. This role fosters therapeutic engagement, strengthens support networks, and promotes client stability and functional improvement. This position requires regular travel and does not include supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience working in a behavioral health or human services setting is preferred.

  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal education in some cases.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must meet the definition of a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider under Arkansas Medicaid Provider standards.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, professionals, and team members.

  • Must be able to travel to provide services in a variety of settings.

  • Proficiency in electronic documentation and use of multiple digital platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including spelling and grammar.

  • Ability to clearly present and explain information to clients and their support systems.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or human services field.

  • Advanced proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain productivity while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain productivity levels as defined by organizational standards.

  • Function as an active member of each client’s interdisciplinary treatment team.

  • Complete all training and certification requirements to serve as a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider.

  • Provide transportation as clinically appropriate to support clients in achieving treatment goals.

  • Coordinate referrals and serve as a liaison with external agencies and community partners.

  • Prepare accurate and timely documentation for all services provided, including reports required by agencies such as DCFS or the legal system.

  • Deliver behavioral interventions in accordance with each client’s treatment plan, often in off-site settings.

  • Ensure client attendance at initial and follow-up psychiatric medication appointments.

  • Coordinate and schedule all required QBHP supervision and observation sessions as outlined by agency policy.

  • Document all supervision and observation activities in the Credible system, ensuring review and approval by the supervising MHP.

  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients, their families, and support systems.

  • Provide consistent, reliable sessions that model emotional and behavioral stability.

  • Empower clients to improve day-to-day functioning, reduce psychosocial stressors, and focus on treatment goals.

  • Promote and encourage adherence to treatment plans and clinical recommendations.

  • Review the Caseload Compliance Report regularly to ensure that timely, tier-appropriate services are being provided.

  • Observe and report client behaviors across various environments, contributing to treatment planning and progress monitoring.

  • Prepare and submit documentation to support service authorization and reimbursement in a timely manner.

  • Attend all required staff meetings and clinical consultations.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Salary : $42,890 - $64,491
