Ready to do work that actually matters?

At Families in Transition, we aren’t just running a shelter—we are on a mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness. We believe in providing dignified housing, innovative solutions, and compassionate care.

We are looking for dedicated, empathetic, and proactive Participant Support Specialists to be the heartbeat of our adult emergency shelter. If you want a job where your presence directly creates a safe, clean, and welcoming sanctuary for vulnerable adults, we want to talk to you.

Choose the Shift That Fits Your Life

We offer competitive base pay with excellent shift differentials for evening and overnight heroes:

  • 2nd Shift (Friday–Tuesday): $21.00 / hour (includes $1.00 differential)
  • 2nd Shift (Tuesday–Saturday): $21.00 / hour (includes $1.00 differential)
  • 3rd Shift (Friday–Tuesday): $22.00 / hour (includes $1.50 differential)
  • 3rd Shift (Thursday–Monday): $22.00 / hour (includes $1.50 differential)

Your Role: What You’ll Do

You’ll be on the front lines of community care, ensuring our daily operations run smoothly and our residents feel safe.

  • Create Sanctuary: Supervise resident activities, de-escalate behavioral issues, and keep the environment safe, clean, and secure through light housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Keep Things Moving: Welcome new residents, assign beds, explain program rules, monitor supplies, and maintain accurate daily logs/incident reports.
  • Be a Guardian: Provide vital "awake" shift coverage and maintain strict grounds security to protect residents and your fellow teammates.
  • Have a Voice: Contribute direct feedback on shelter policies to help us continuously improve our services for the community.
