Service Coordinator
Founded in 1996, Families First is a non-profit organization that provides person-centered services for individuals living with disabilities. Our services promote independent living, enhance self-esteem, and cultivate community membership through caring and respectful relationships. We have two locations in Southern Vermont; Bennington and Brattleboro.
We are seeking a Service Coordinator to join our newer Brattleboro team. A successful Service Coordinator is caring, patient, and has effective communication and leadership skills. They are willing to advocate for, help, support, and encourage our self-advocates and staff grow and reach their goals.
Service Coordinators are responsible for:
- support Families First advocates, and communicate effectively with guardians, families, direct care staff, and shared living providers.
- oversee the fiscal management of service funding and policy implementation.
- train, mentor, supervise, and support advocates and direct care staff, as well as overall team coordination.
- assist with the flow of services in conjunction with the Independent Case Managers that are a part of Benchmark & Columbus.
- oversee a caseload of 8-16 individuals.
- documentation & occasional direct care services
Education, Knowledge, & Skills required for the role:
- An Associates or BA/BS degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social work, or related field, and/or 2-5 years of related leadership/ Human Services experience.
- Experience utilizing conflict-resolution skills. Additional training will be provided.
- Computer literacy with Google suite applications such as Gmail, Google drive, Google docs etc. Familiarity with, or knowledge of Medicaid systems, Carelogic, and/or Aris Solutions.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to collect and organize data, both written and electronic.
The Service Coordinator role is 35-40 hours M-F, and starts at $27/hr. You would work closely with a team in the Brattleboro area, as well as occasionally support advocates with direct support services.
