Overview

To aide in the process of achieving this mission, the Licensed Supervisor will supervise effective therapeutic services to children and their families who are presenting with challenges that may be interfering with the child becoming successful with the above mission and may need to provide these services in the absence of the therapist. The Supervisor will work as an integral team member with the Clinical Director, will offer training and supervision to clinical staff of Families First who will be located throughout Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade, screen clients for clinical services, offer supervision and consultations to staff (and students when applicable) and be available for clinical and administrative consultations with the school district and collaborating partners.

Duties

• Supervise 3-6 Families First clinical staff providing behavioral health services.
• Participate in the hiring of program staff, completing performance appraisals, training and if necessary, disciplining staff.
• Screen and assign, or confirm cases referred to the staff.
• Provide individual supervision to clinical staff carrying a caseload of children and families.
• Available for emergencies and crisis situations for their cases as well as the cases of the staff they supervise.
• Provide clinical supervision to co-located therapists in schools under the contract that the agency has with the PBCSD.
• Be available to other clinical staff in the program as a back-up to other clinical supervisors or the clinical director.
• Review documentation in the charts and/or in the EHR.
• Review and approve time sheets on a weekly basis.
• Provide clinical consultations for clinical staff.
• Accept referrals and assign the cases to one of the therapists.
• Actively participate as a positive member of the agency environment and clinical team.
• Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
• Complete all required continuing education credits.
• Access community resources and refer when necessary.
• Secure and maintain client information in keeping with HIPAA regulations and Families First policies and procedures.
• Maintain case files in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Provide therapeutic treatment for a specified period as agreed upon by the family and the program.
• Participating in case consultation meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy with clinical capacity to serve children and families who may be seen as high risk or those diagnosed with a behavioral health disorder.
• Proficient in the English language and familiarity with the diversity population served by the BHS program.
• Minimum three year’s demonstrated experience in a clinical setting with children and families.
• Experience with supervision of multiple members of clinical staff.
• Specific knowledge of child development, attachment theory and psychosocial development.
• Knowledge of dynamics of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and substance abuse.
• Knowledge of and ability to engage in school-based consultation services.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
• Experience with school-based and in-home visitation services.
• Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, for children/youth and adults.
• Knowledge of psychotherapeutic approaches and current evidence-based relational therapeutic approaches.
• Comprehensive and strong clinical foundation in human development and systemic approaches.
• Knowledge of and ability to serve socioeconomically and culturally diverse populations.
• Capacity to work as a team member in a family driven wrap around concept of care.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
• The ability to provide confidential services in the child’s school, family’s home, or at a community location preferred by the family.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
