The Falmouth Commodores is one of ten teams in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, known for its high-caliber college baseball competition. Approximately 35% of its players progress to the major leagues, and around 70% get drafted at some point in their careers. The team operates entirely through the efforts of dedicated volunteers and is fully funded by private and corporate donations.
The ideal candidate will be an expert communicator who has a strong ability to delegate responsibility and collaborate across a range of areas. This role involves managing resources and processes to optimize productivity and quality while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Ultimately, the general manager should be driven by a desire to lead our team to success.
Responsibilities
1) Operate the Falmouth Commodores Baseball Team in accordance with the rules of the CCBL and the NCAA and follow any general guidelines set by the Board of Directors
2) Work with the Board of Directors, coaching staff and players and act as a conduit when needed.
3) With the help of staff some responsibilities include:
a) Assemble team roster in coordination with head coach.
b) Manage the players contracts, handbook, equipment, transportation, and uniforms
c) Attend League meetings.
d) Ensure compliance with League policies.
e) Notify Host Family Committee of player arrival and transportation to Falmouth, as well as any changes in a timely fashion.
f) Collect player rent.
g) Perform other duties as described in the Bylaws.
