What are the responsibilities and job description for the Falmouth Commodores Athletic Trainer position at Falmouth Commodores?
Evaluate, treat and refer orthopedic injuries, concussions, general medical conditions, and accidents related to participation in the CCBL
Oversee and coordinate symptomatic testing for ballplayers, coaches, and sports medicine staff who present with COVID-19 signs and symptoms
Ensure proper documentation of injuries, illnesses, treatments, and medications within Sportsware injury tracking software within 1 week of the time of the injury, illness, or treatment
Ensure proper filing of insurance claims for accidental injuries related to the Cape Cod Baseball League prior to the end of the CCBL season
Ensure HIPAA compliance and documentation of medical release of information to discuss ball player care with parties listed below: a. Athletic trainers from ballplayers institution b. Coaches from ballplayers institution c. Parents of ballplayer d. Host family of ballplayer
Effectively communicate with coaching staff of the franchise regarding ballplayer injury status
Effectively communicate with league athletic training coordinator, league and franchise physicians
Report physician referrals and activation of EMS to athletic training coordinator within 24 hours of injury or incident
Report potential and positive COVID-19 cases to League COVID coordinator at the time of positive test
Carry out proper procedures for graduated return to play with concussions and COVID-19
Property document discontinuation of treatment or medical releases within Sportsware and report to league athletic training coordinator
Typical daily hours run from 3 hours prior to game time and 30 minutes post game for cleanup and post game treatment
Potential assistance with transportation of ballplayers to physicians appointments, emergency room or urgency care centers
