Job Summary
The Business Unit Manager (BUM) at Falls Filtration Technologies is responsible for the strategic direction,
financial performance, and operational execution of an assigned product line or market segment. This
individual leads all aspects of the business unit’s success, from business development and customer
engagement to internal execution and financial performance. The BUM will collaborate across sales,
engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure the delivery of high-value solutions to our customers
while achieving internal objectives.
Essential Job Duties:
P&L Ownership & Strategic Growth
o Full top-to-bottom accountability for the business unit’s financial and operational performance
o Develop and execute annual business plans, including revenue forecasts, cost targets, and
margin improvement initiatives
o Identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities, including market and competitive
analysis
o Drive value creation through pricing strategies, cost improvements, and strategic account
targeting
Customer & Market Engagement
o Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with OEMs, defense primes, integrators, and
distributors
o Represent Falls Filtration Technologies at industry events, customer meetings, and trade
shows (travel ~30%)
o Lead proposal development and influence customer decision-making by selling Falls Filtration
Technologies value proposition
o Navigate complex customer negotiations and contractual commitments
· Cross-Functional Leadership
o Lead multifunctional teams in the execution of key programs, ensuring on-time and on-budget
delivery
o Serve as liaison between customers and internal departments including engineering,
operations, and quality
o Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFARS, and other regulatory requirements
o Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across the business unit
· Program & Contract Management
o Oversee all aspects of proposal generation, contract negotiation, and program execution
o Ensure alignment of technical requirements, commercial terms, and gross margin targets
o Coordinate internal resources to resolve delivery, quality, or performance issues impacting customer satisfaction
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
· Strong verbal communication skills and experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations. · · Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in product line management, program management, or business development in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing
· Proven ability to drive results, prioritize competing demands, and deliver under tight deadlines
· Demonstrated leadership experience with cross-functional teams · Familiarity with export control regulations including ITAR and EAR
· Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and experience negotiating government and commercial contracts
· Strong business judgment, data-driven decision-making, and customer focus
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· U.S. Person per ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) Preferred Skills or Characteristics:
· 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment
· MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business discipline
· Experience managing full product lifecycle and aligning product roadmaps to customer needs
