General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Falls Church City Academy for Sustainable Thinking. This position will develop, implement and refine the Sustainability Academy structure and curricula while providing direct leadership and oversight of all aspects of the program. The coordinator will serve as the ambassador of the Academy leading the communication, recruitment, and daily coordination of the academy and will collaborate with central office leadership to facilitate the onboarding of the International Baccalaureate CP programme and Governor’s School Application process.

Education and Experience:
- Possess at least a Master's Degree in Education or Sustainability-related field
- Experience planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating staff development programs preferred
- Have met the Virginia Department of Education requirements to hold, or be eligible to hold, a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in the area for which they are being hired to teach
- Experience in computer technology, with Google Suite proficiency, is preferred, otherwise, must be willing to pursue appropriate technology training as required by the position
- Prior training and experience in an IB program preferred
- At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
Physical Requirements:
- Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls
- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and projection and video devices
- Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions
