Patient Transporter (CHR)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Transporter to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to appointments in local and surrounding areas, as well as assisting with medication deliveries from the Health Center pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from various locations including in the Fallon, Reno, Carson City, and surrounding area.
• Assist patients with needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
• Accompany and assist patients to their appointments including provide physical assistance in moving and loading patients in vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport vehicles.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures while handling patients.
• Document transportation activities accurately in patient records as required.
• Provide basic life support as needed during transport, ensuring prompt response to any emergencies.

Skills

• Experience in non-emergency patient transport or similar roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology related to patient care is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Ability to perform basic life support techniques when necessary.
• Compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
• Physical stamina to assist with lifting and moving patients safely.
