Certified Pharmacy Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations within a hospital or clinical setting, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and pharmacy practices, particularly in critical care and acute care environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications.
• Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles to ensure optimal patient service and safety.
• Provide support in managing inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary.
• Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage requirements to enhance patient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication regarding patient medication needs.
• Daily screening of telephone calls from patients and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with pharmacy practices and advancements in medical terminology.

Experience

• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
• Previous experience in a retail or tribal health setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
• A solid understanding of medical terminology will be beneficial for effective interaction with healthcare professionals and patients alike.
