About the Role
We are seeking a General Manager to lead our year-round café and retail business in Munising, MI—a thriving summer tourist town on the shores of Lake Superior. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, process-driven, and a natural leader .
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of café and retail store
Create and implement operational systems and workflows
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff (seasonal and year-round)
Ensure top-tier customer service and consistent product quality
Maintain inventory, place orders, and manage cost control
Hold team members accountable to standards and expectations
Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and work ethic
Manage seasonal transitions and fluctuating staffing needs
Uphold safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards
Collaborate with ownership on strategy and execute plans independently
Contribute creative ideas for menus, displays, and customer experience
Preferred Qualifications
Management experience in café, restaurant, or retail settings is preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to lead a team and hold staff accountable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
