Role Overview
We’re looking for a YouTube Content Lead to build and scale a slate of breakout, non-scripted YouTube series. This is not a “YouTube manager” role — it’s a formats creator, showrunner-mindset role. You may come from TV development, reality, documentary, unscripted, social content, or creative studio worlds.
Your job: invent, launch, and optimize hit YouTube formats that can scale to millions of views per episode and become long-running franchises.You’ll partner closely with our talent, creators, production teams, and data insights group to shape the next era of Fallen Media Originals.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new unscripted/reality YouTube formats from concept → pilot → full series.
- Build repeatable, scalable format engines (challenge shows, game-based formats, docu-style, live, social experiments, etc.).
- Lead creative development: treatments, pitch decks, beatsheets, story design, and pilots.
- Oversee production across pre-pro, shoots, and post to ensure pacing, tone, and storytelling that maximizes retention.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, talent, and creators throughout execution.
- Use performance data (CTR, retention, watch time) to refine formats and guide programming decisions.
- Identify and cast high-potential hosts/creators for new series.
- Help shape the creative and programming strategy for new YouTube channels across Fallen Media.
- Continuously monitor cultural trends and translate them into high-opportunity new shows.
Qualifications
- Background in unscripted, reality, formats, or digital storytelling — TV development, documentary, branded content, or social video are all relevant.
- Experience developing or executing repeatable, franchise-ready formats.
- Strong creative instincts around pacing, stakes, humor, emotional payoff, and audience hooks.
- Ability to lead like a showrunner — owning the vision from idea to delivery.
- Deep understanding of internet-native storytelling and youth culture.
- Comfort working in fast, iterative environments where shows evolve weekly.
- Not required: prior YouTube experience.
- Required: format brain, creative leadership, and taste.
