- Demonstrate a knowledge of the curriculum, instruction, technology instructional materials, information and instructional technologies and ED 306.42, Information and Communication Technologies Program (ICT)
- Provide and promote a positive educational environment in the library media center
- Inform and Assist students through digital citizenship in developing knowledge of ethical, responsible use of technology tools in a society that relies heavily on knowledge of information in its decision-making
- Work with the principals, teachers, and students to ensure that the library media center is an integral part of the school's curriculum
- Work with the teachers and students in the development and assessment of digital artifacts and portfolios
- Promote literacy and the use and integration of information systems to enrich the curriculum and enhance learning
- Plan, with teachers, for the use of resources and the integration of information skills within units of study
- Promote quality literature and authors reflecting a variety of cultures, themes and subject matter
- Demonstrate experience with and understanding of current and emerging technologies, including internet resources and their applications
- Design effective instruction by applying knowledge of literature, information and the learner
- Teach the processes in research, thinking and communicating, which include the skills and strategies needed to retrieve, evaluate, organize, share and apply information effectively and independently (information skills)
- Promote the Library Media Center as an essential link to the larger community
- Participate in school and district curriculum committees
- Assist the Principal in developing and justifying the Library Media Center's budget
- Build and maintain library media collections based on needs of curriculum, student abilities and learning styles, instructional methods and needs of teachers, and quality of material
- Maintain a schedule for the use of the library computer lab and mobile labs
- Organize (arrange, catalog and classify) learning resources for optimal use:
- Develop flexible circulation, loan and utilization policies for collections and services
- Supervise Library Assistants, Student Assistants and Volunteers
- Model and promote compliance with copyright laws and fair use guidelines
- Provide access to resources outside the school through interlibrary loan, networking and other resource sharing agreements
- Meet monthly with the Middle School Library Media Professional to plan for the needs of students
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the High School Principal.

Qualifications: Valid New Hampshire Media Generalist certification or proof of eligibility.
Reports to: High School Principal
Supervises: High School Library Assistant
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Teachers Association, Inc.
Job Goals:
To participate in the educational process by planning with teachers and through direct instruction to students; manage the media center; and provide technical services and instruction associated with the operation of the media center.
