What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Minister position at Fall Creek Christian Church?
FALL CREEK CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Pendleton, Indiana
Youth Minister
Full-Time | Spiritual Leadership for 7th–12th Grade Students
Who We Are
Fall Creek Christian Church exists to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus. We are a vibrant, mission-minded congregation in Pendleton, Indiana, passionate about seeing the next generation fully alive in their faith. We believe students don’t just belong in church, they belong at the center of it.
We are looking for a high-energy, relationally gifted Youth Minister who is ready to invest deeply in students, equip parents, and build a thriving ministry culture that points young people to Jesus.
Our vision is a youth ministry where students genuinely look forward to showing up, not because they have to, but because they want to be part of something real and meaningful. We dream of a ministry where teens are active, engaged, and invested in one another’s lives. More than that, we long for a ministry that is deeply committed to discipling students to grow in their faith, one that moves them beyond Sunday attendance into an authentic, day-to-day walk with Jesus. At the heart of it all, we want every student to know Jesus personally and to be transformed by that relationship.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time role reporting to the Elders and Admin Minister. You will provide spiritual leadership to students in grades 7–12, their families, and a team of dedicated adult volunteers. This is not a program-management job; it’s a people-first calling. You’ll cast vision, build relationships, preach, lead, and create a ministry environment where students encounter Jesus and grow into leaders themselves.
What You’ll Do
- Provide spiritual leadership to students by developing and implementing a clear vision and strategy for Fall Creek Youth Ministry, including discipleship, worship, missions, and outreach.
- Build and maintain intentional pastoral relationships with students, parents, and volunteers.
- Partner with and equip parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their students through consistent communication, support, and resources.
- Recruit, train, and develop adult and student leaders, empowering them to serve in roles aligned with their gifts and strengths.
- Lead engaging biblical teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care that fosters spiritual growth in students.
- Oversee and execute all youth ministry programming and events, including Sunday gatherings and activities throughout the week.
- Create opportunities for students to build relationships and grow spiritually outside of scheduled programming.
- Partner with children’s ministry to ensure a smooth and intentional transition from elementary into youth ministry.
Who You Are
- You love Jesus and you genuinely love students.
- You are in full agreement with Fall Creek Christian Church’s Statement of Faith.
- You are living in patterns consistent with Biblical instruction and growing in your relationship with Jesus.
- You hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (ministry-related field preferred).
- You have at least 3 years of experience as a youth minister or intern preferred.
- You are a skilled communicator-equally comfortable teaching from the stage, connecting one-on-one, and leading a team.
- You are a natural leader who draws people in, builds teams, and develops others to lead.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits package included. Details will be discussed with qualified candidates.
