We are seeking a hands-on Evaporator Operator to support the daily operation of a landfill and natural gas leachate evaporation facility. What You'll Do
As an Evaporator Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor landfill leachate evaporation equipment and systems
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical and electrical components
- Monitor gauges, dials, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure optimal performance
- Perform routine operational checks and process adjustments
- Assist in identifying and resolving equipment issues to maximize plant uptime
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports and records
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance with APTIM's safety standards
- Perform daily calibration checks and maintain accurate operational data
- Collaborate remotely with Operations and Project Management teams
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support continuous plant operations
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain electronic records
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training and coverage at other facilities
- Ability to participate in a 7-day rotating on-call schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with landfill gas or environmental operations
- PLC, SCADA, or industrial control system experience
- Experience operating industrial process equipment, treatment systems, or manufacturing equipment
