Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service Technician to join our team at a leading manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial maintenance, electrical and mechanical systems, and troubleshooting. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on complex machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal operation and safety standards. Candidates with experience in industrial electrician work, hydraulics, HVAC/R, welding, and field service are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical skills and customer service are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using schematics, precision measuring instruments (such as ammeters and ohmmeters), and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace defective parts using welding (
welding experience preferred), high voltage/low voltage electrical knowledge, and other mechanical techniques. - Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS software for work order management.
- Conduct field service activities including installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of machinery at customer sites.
- Assist with the setup of equipment such as scissor lifts and perform HVAC/R maintenance when required.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to ensure accurate repairs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or as an industrial mechanic within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong electrical knowledge including experience with high voltage and low voltage systems; familiarity with industrial electrician practices is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding (including
welding), and precision measuring instruments. - Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and CMMS data effectively.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Experience working with field service operations is desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with strong communication abilities in English.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Military background or experience is considered an asset due to discipline and technical training background.
