Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team in supporting industrial manufacturing operations. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems and machinery across various industrial environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, including working with high and low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, vision inspection systems, and calibration processes. A background in industrial electrician work, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with schematics and precision measuring instruments are essential. Field service capabilities and customer service skills are also highly valued to ensure seamless support for our clients' operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing settings.
- Diagnose issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and calibration instruments.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), sensors, vision inspection systems, and CNC machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Support high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Utilize AutoCAD for schematic interpretation and system modifications as needed.
- Assist in calibrating sensors, vision systems, and other precision instruments to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical teams on integrating electrical components with hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Provide field service support at customer sites, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, modifications, and inspections for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or electrical technician within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong background in hydraulics, mechanical knowledge, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Familiarity with schematics reading, calibration procedures, precision measuring instruments (such as calipers or micrometers), and high/low voltage electrical work.
- Experience working with Calypso software or similar manufacturing control platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of autoCAD for system design or modifications is desirable.
- Military background or experience in field service roles is advantageous due to discipline and technical expertise requirements.
- Excellent customer service skills for supporting clients effectively during on-site repairs or installations.
