About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Secretary to serve as the primary support partner to our Managing Shareholder and lead a team of legal support professionals. This is a key position within the firm, requiring a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This is not an entry-level legal secretary position.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience supporting attorneys in medical malpractice and general liability/third-party defense litigation, while also serving as a dependable leader, mentor, and operational driver for the legal support team. This individual must be energetic, motivated, and personable, with the ability to anticipate needs, manage competing priorities, and foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, proofread, and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and litigation documents.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, expert witness schedules, and court appearances.
- Manage court filings and e-filings while ensuring compliance with deadlines and court procedures.
- Maintain organized case files and litigation records throughout the life of each matter.
- Manage the attorney's litigation calendar and scheduling activities.
- Serve as the lead legal secretary supporting the Managing Shareholder's practice.
- Help coordinate workflow and case support activities across the legal support team.
- Mentor and support additional legal assistants joining the practice.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of legal secretary experience within a litigation-focused law firm
- Direct experience supporting medical malpractice litigation attorneys.
- Strong understanding of medical malpractice litigation deadlines, procedures, filings, and case management requirements.
- Experience managing complex attorney calendars, litigation schedules, hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Experience handling attorney time entry, billing, and litigation support operations.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal document systems

Compensation: $75k - $85k
