ESTIMATOR / INSIDE SALES
About the Position:
Estimator is responsible for working closely with Outside Sales Team, providing direct pricing support to internal and external customers on design/build and publicly bid projects using the most current pricing available. They will also be supported in ensuring estimates are being done in accordance with the high standards of the organization. Estimator must communicate with customers and teammates via telephone and email in a professional manner while working accurately and timely in a fast paced, high volume, detailed and deadline-oriented environment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Team up with assigned Sales Managers to help support FALK Sales.
- Sales Coordination – work with assigned Sales Manager teammates to help coordinate packages.
- Help grow markets in assigned territory areas.
- Enters orders in ERP once quote is signed.
- Process Small Orders for assigned Sales Managers, excluding warranty/customer service orders.
- Prepares estimates from information received such as contract drawings, specifications, and addendums using in-house pricing, supplemental design and pricing programs and information obtained from 3rd party vendors.
- Identifies exclusions, discrepancies, missing information and obtains clarification and qualifies the quotation, based on that information.
- Provides adds, deducts, or alternates as requested to estimates that require special pricing beyond the basic estimation.
- Ensures the use of the most current pricing information when preparing the estimate.
- Maintains Customer/Vendor/Sales team relationships.
- Communicates with Customers and Sales team regarding any clarification of scope/design intent that the Estimator was involved in.
- Interacts with customers and Sales Managers to clarify product requirements on RFQ's as needed.
- Interact and provide project requirements, estimate details to manufacturing and project management.
- Ensure customers receive regular status updates and quotations are issued accurately and in a timely manner. Work with Project Management team when quotation becomes an order and update as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Maintains relations with customers, Outside Sales team and downstream departments
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience estimating exterior building products or steel buildings.
- Must have commercial experience.
- High school diploma is required. Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Work related travel would typically be less than 2 times per year.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines for completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.
- Ability to review and interpret project specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Exhibit competency in use of in-house pricing programs and procedures.
- Must be computer proficient, particularly in Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction, SketchUp and Excel
- Must be detail and customer service oriented.
- Must be comfortable on the phone with customers and Outside Sales
- PEMB knowledge in product offerings
- Basic understanding of design considerations
- Basic knowledge of insulated panels
