Senior Staff Accountant
Falcons Landing | Loudoun County, Northern Virginia
$85,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience, plus bonus potential

Falcons Landing, a not-for-profit Life Plan Community west of Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations while expanding their experience in strategic finance, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Assist with financial statements, management reports, and audit preparation.
- Analyze financial performance, explain budget variances, and track key operational metrics.
- Collaborate with department leaders on operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Support cash management, fixed assets, capital projects, and debt and lease accounting.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance reporting.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Two to six years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Strong GAAP knowledge, Excel proficiency, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information clearly.
- Senior-living, healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-entity experience preferred, but not required
- CPA, CPA candidate, CMA, and/or master’s degree preferred, but not required.
