Pharmacist – Falcon Pharmacy Independent Pharmacy

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (NO WEEKENDS)

Falcon Pharmacy is a growing, full-service independent community pharmacy located in Florham Park, New Jersey. We focus on personalized patient care, convenient service, medication access, and building strong relationships with our patients and local healthcare providers.

We are looking for a licensed pharmacist who is professional, dependable, patient-focused, and interested in being part of a growing independent pharmacy.

Position Summary

The pharmacist will be responsible for safely and accurately dispensing medications while providing excellent patient care and clinical support. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a community pharmacy environment, communicating with patients and prescribers, and taking ownership of day-to-day pharmacy operations.

This position offers an opportunity to work closely with the pharmacy owner and team while helping Falcon Pharmacy continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Verify prescriptions for appropriate drug, dose, directions, interactions, allergies, and clinical considerations.
• Counsel patients regarding medications, including proper use, potential side effects, and adherence.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers regarding prescriptions and patient care.
• Assist with prior authorizations, formulary issues, medication alternatives, and prescription-related questions.
• Provide immunizations and other pharmacy services as permitted by New Jersey law and company policy.
• Assist patients with prescription transfers, medication access, manufacturer savings programs, and insurance-related issues.
• Monitor controlled substances and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff.
• Ensure accurate inventory management, ordering, storage, and handling of medications.
• Maintain proper pharmacy records and documentation.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming pharmacy environment.
• Assist with prescription workflow and operational efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service and develop positive relationships with patients and healthcare providers.
• Participate in the continued growth and development of Falcon Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist License in good standing.
• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree.
• Ability to work independently and make sound professional decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred:

• Community pharmacy experience.
• Experience with prior authorizations and insurance issues.
• Immunization certification/experience.
• Experience working with independent pharmacies.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic prescribing.
• Familiarity with specialty medications or medication access programs.
