What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hot Box Trailer Assembler position at Falcon Road Maintenance Equipment?
Position Description: As an Assembler you are part of the final assembly team in finishing the building of road maintenance equipment, per customer requests, as well as handling any maintenance repairs. You’ll work under moderate supervision, contribute to a team-focused environment, and continue developing your technical skills.
The successful candidate will enjoy working on automobiles, are mechanically inclined and have prior experience working with hydraulic systems. Individuals with diesel mechanic or auto mechanic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, drawings, diagrams, and reviews pictures of installations, as necessary.
- Assembles asphalt hot patcher/trailer in assigned workstations on the ground or up on lift.
- Positions and fasten such things as subassemblies, parts, wiring, labels, stickers to the trailer.
- Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fasten together such things as subassemblies, parts, and components to trailers.
- Fill trailers with necessary fluids such as fuel, oil, transfer oil, to name a few.
- Prebuilds motors and electrical boxes as required.
- Installation of motors and electrical boxes on tack tanks is required.
- Actively looks for opportunities to obtain new knowledge to increase efficiency.
- Stay on task and always make productive use of time.
- Maintains the confidentiality of customer and Falcon proprietary information.
- Practices good housekeeping within work areas.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality standard requirements.
- Maintain inventory levels.
- Complete all initial and on-going company required training per OSHA and Falcon standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Follows all Falcon policies, procedures, compliance and security practices.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Must be mechanically inclined.
· Hydraulic knowledge is a plus.
· Mechanical knowledge for maintaining machinery.
· Able to read and interpret schematics.
· Strong customer service skills for interacting with internal team members and external vendors.
· Ability to weld is a plus.
· Work Schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with facilities experience.
Safety & Environmental
· Lifting of equipment and parts up to 50 lbs.
· Standing, sitting, leaning, and squatting up to several hours as required by the work needed and break/lunch schedule.
· Pushing of drums, barrels, or parts up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to see up close and far away, perceive color and depth with the ability to focus.
· Must have the stamina and endurance to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for long periods of time.
