Job Overview
Falcon Drilling is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Carson City, NV branch. The successful candidate will have strong operational and cost accounting experience and thrive in a dynamic, project-based environment. You will manage financial records, payroll, and reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide clear financial analysis to support management decisions. This full-time role supports the day-to-day accounting operations of our U.S. branch and contributes to the monthly consolidation and reporting of our multinational group—helping maintain accuracy, efficiency, and financial integrity across global operations.
Compensation for this role is $65,000–$85,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus production bonus.
Duties
- Manage daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for submission to Head Office.
- Handle intercompany invoicing, consolidations, and reconciliations with the parent company.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Support project cost tracking, budgeting, and operational reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Conduct periodic audits and financial reviews to maintain data integrity.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business operations and decision-making.
Experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (formal accounting training preferred).
- 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in an operational, project-based, or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Sage 50, ADP Payroll, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with both local and international teams.
Working Environment
This position is based at our Carson City, Nevada office and is not available for remote work. The Accountant will primarily work independently with limited day-to-day in-office interaction, requiring strong self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks autonomously. Collaboration will be mainly with our Head Office in Canada, making strong written and verbal communication with the Head Office Controller a key part of the role.
