Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to monitor safety and security conditions while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Engage with community members, providing assistance and information to foster trust and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with community partners, local organizations, and law enforcement to support outreach efforts and address community concerns.
- Assist in organizing and supporting youth programs, community events, and grassroots initiatives aimed at promoting well-being and safety.
- Collect data on incidents or observations during patrols to inform program development and community safety strategies.
- Manage social media platforms and outreach campaigns to promote safety initiatives, upcoming events, and community resources.
- Maintain detailed logs of patrol activities, incidents, and community interactions for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in volunteer management, supervising teams, or leading community programs.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
- Experience in program development, project management, or grassroots organizing within underserved communities.
- Knowledge of social media management, marketing strategies, and data collection techniques.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse populations effectively.
- Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse communities or in public health initiatives.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire; first aid training is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills for client communication, collaboration with partners, and community engagement.
- Background in social work or addiction counseling is advantageous for supporting vulnerable populations.
- Experience teaching youth programs or working within educational settings is preferred.
