What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Assistant Teacher (K-5) position at Faith Lutheran Learning Center?
Job Summary
3-5 teachers will work together to run a fun, safe, and educational camp for 30 school aged (K-5) students. Active supervision, collaboration with colleagues, and interacting with students are the main components of the job.
30-40 hours/week
Responsibilities and Duties
There is a lot of walking (center does not provide transportation). The summer camp walks 2-3 times to a neighborhood pool, several local parks, a school playground across the street, and occasionally takes Lextran for further field trips.
The majority of each day is spent outside; inside time includes free choice play, journal time, silent/buddy/teacher reading, and three meals/day provided.
Qualifications and Skills
REQUIRED: 18 yrs oldExperience caring for/teaching children in a daycare, preschool, after-school, or elementary school setting (preferably a minimum of one year)Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED: Enthusiastic, compassionate, interactive, positive, and dependable teacher who will take initiative and work cooperatively with others.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
