2. Job Role Summary
Individual will be responsible for performing routine facility maintenance which includes cleaning, maintaining, repairing, and reporting. This position reports to Director of Office Management with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks. This position will be working with contractors, cleaning crews, and help supporting events through set up or tear down for Faith Lutheran Church.
3. Primary Job Responsibilities
A. Work cooperatively with the Senior Pastor in a way that supports his vision as well as the vision and mission of the congregation.
B. Review room reservations and church calendar, allocating resources to meet the needs of church programs and outside groups.
C. Set up and take down furniture and equipment as needed for church functions.
D. Program the energy management system on HVAC computer to support these activities yet minimize energy costs.
E. Perform custodial tasks as needed to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of the facility.
F. Support, supervise, and review cleaning team/part time custodians in routine work.
G. Perform minor maintenance/repair of church facility/property and equipment as directed by the Director of Office Management.
H. Order maintenance parts and supplies, completing vouchers for facility expenses.
I. Identify areas of deficiency and suggest courses of action for preventive maintenance of areas affected to Director of Office Management.
J. Organize and control the inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, providing for safe and secure storage. Providing efficient access for staff and volunteers
K. Manage and maintain files for plant operation expenditures, equipment manuals, warrantee information, facility related records and drawings, fire, OSHA, ADA, and safety compliance records.
L. Follow O.S.H.A for safety guidelines and training.
M. Assuring and communicating to members or outside groups proper lockup procedures and security of the building.
N. Manage and maintain church keys system.
O. Assist Director of Office Management in reviewing contractors work

4. Relationships
A. Report to and work under the direction of the Director of Office Management. B. Communicate effectively and maintain compatible relationships with the Pastors, supervisor, staff, church members, and volunteers.
C. Work in harmony with all staff and ministry areas so that the vision and mission of the church is effectively carried out.
D. Work effectively and cooperatively with members of the operations & custodial team.
E. Work in accordance with the guidelines and policies of Faith Lutheran Church.
F. Coordinate with Director of Office Management & Facilities Task Force / Committee providing inputs and feedback on long term facilities maintenance.
5. Qualifications
A. High school diploma ; college education .
B. Demonstrated computer knowledge. Experience in maintenance of facility systems, components, and equipment and in following a cleaning schedule. Knowledge of inventory and storage systems.
C. Successful completion of O.S.H.A. training and testing in the first 6 months of employment.
D. Must be able to identify and perform procedures necessary to correct and maintain facility needs with very little supervision.
E. Good physical condition, climb stairs regularly and bend and kneel for long periods of time or coordinate job duties with appropriate staff/volunteer. Be able to work indoors and outdoors as needed. Job requires climbing ladders for comprehensive facilities inspections along with operating & maintaining certification of man lift for indoor (Example-hanging cloths from sanctuary cross) or limited outdoor use on hard surfaces.
F. Must be able to safely use power and non-power tools as needed.
G. Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively and remain calm during, busy, stressful workdays and situations.
H. Organized work style, with flexible hours, friendly and willing attitude to work effectively with, in support of staff, volunteers, children, and outside groups.
I. Experience in maintenance of facility systems, components, and equipment and in following a cleaning schedule.
J. Knowledge of inventory and storage systems.
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
