Director of Children's Ministries
Faith Lutheran Church – Coon Rapids, MN
Full-Time | Exempt
Faith Lutheran Church of Coon Rapids is seeking a passionate and relational Director of Children's Ministries to lead ministry for children from birth through fifth grade. This position partners with staff and volunteers to create engaging, welcoming, and faith-forming experiences for children and families within the Lutheran (ELCA) tradition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Sunday morning children’s programming, including Kids’ Time during worship
- Plan and coordinate midweek faith formation opportunities
- Develop post-baptism family engagement, including faith milestones and family faith resources
- Plan special events and seasonal programming, including Vacation Bible School
- Oversee the church nursery
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support children’s ministry volunteers
- Build strong relationships with children and families
- Manage curriculum, supplies, scheduling, and ministry budget
- Collaborate with church staff to support the mission of Faith Lutheran Church
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Two or more years of experience working with children and families in a ministry setting preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to recruit and support volunteers
- Comfort teaching within the Lutheran (ELCA) tradition
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
- Successful completion of required background checks
