Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Based Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting individuals, particularly children, through various challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering personal growth, providing educational support, and helping mentees navigate their paths effectively. The Mentor will utilize their experience in social work, conflict management, and addiction counseling to create a positive impact in the lives of those they serve.

Responsibilities

• Develop trusting relationships with mentees to foster a supportive environment.
• Provide guidance and support in personal development and educational pursuits.
• Educate mentees on coping strategies and life skills to manage challenges effectively.
• Utilize conflict management techniques to resolve issues that may arise during mentoring sessions.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for each mentee.
• Document progress and provide feedback on mentee development regularly.
• Facilitate group mentoring sessions when appropriate to encourage peer support and interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or adolescents in a mentoring or educational capacity is essential.
• Background in social work, addiction counseling, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
• Proven conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
• A passion for educating others and helping them achieve their goals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in all interactions.
