Title: Director, Faith Friends Preschool & Learning Center
Purpose of Position
Plan, organize and manageall components of Faith Friends Preschool & Learning Center.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Understand the philosophy of Faith Friends Preschool & Learning Center.
Perform all duties as assigned by the Co-Pastors.
Knowledgeable of church policies and adhere to the Employee Handbook in particular.
Daily Operations
Supervise and participate in program activities to ensure the healthy emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child.
Encourage parent participation in the program.
Facilitate good relations between the center and church staff.
Work with all staff in a cooperative manner to achieve the objectives of the program.
Demonstrate a pleasant, receptive manner that values both children and adults.
ODJFS Licensure
Follow all rules and regulating as outlined by ODJFS.
Assure that adequate records are maintained for both children and employees.
Understand and adhere to statutory reporting requirements for suspected child abuse.
Budget
Prepare and manage an operating budget for the child care center.
Supervise fiscal, purchasing and other business management activities.
Staff Management
Responsible for the recruitment and selection of staff with the assistance of the Co-Pastors and/or Staff Parish Relations Committee as needed.
Supervise and evaluate the center staff. Complete written evaluations annually (Spring) and discuss evaluations individually with each employee.
Responsible for conducting staff meetings and communicating pertinent information to employees.
Program Development/Improvement
Work with church committees, Ministry Team and center staff in the development of the total program.
Participate in meetings with church staff as needed.
Experience and Key Competencies
Experience as a center director is desired.
Considerable knowledge of the organizational and administrative procedures involved in the operation of a church-related child care center.
Knowledge of the principles and methods of child development.
Able to plan and direct an overall healthy and safe program.
Knowledge of basic principles of supervision.
Knowledge of current practices in the field of early childhood education.
Ability to prepare and manage a budget.
Personal initiative.
Discretion in handling confidential matters.
Must pass background check, including fingerprinting.
Possess good reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Must be able to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and bend.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
Must meet current Administrator Qualification required by ODJFS.
Work Schedule
Hourly Full-time position (35 or more hours per week – 52 weeks per year)
Compensation commensurate with experience
Reports to Senior Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
