Hopkinton Christian Preschool (HCP) is a premier preschool providing a complete developmentally-appropriate program for children ages 2.9 to 5 years. HCP is a ministry of Faith Community Church of Hopkinton. Faith Community Church is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church with a weekend attendance of 1000.
Role Purpose
The Teacher will be responsible for assisting the Preschool Director and other classroom teachers in providing leadership and oversight to the spiritual and educational needs of preschool children and their families. The position requires skills in communicating, organizing, and building relationship with preschool children and families.
The position hours will vary with the individual teacher based on needs of the Preschool, specific classroom assignments, teacher preference and availability, and other staff member schedules, to ensure a fully staffed Preschool schedule. Work hours will occur within school hours from 8:30am-3pm, up to 5 days per week, with flexibility at the end of the day depending on activities and responsibilities.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Assist the other Teacher(s) in classroom clean-up, and prepping materials
- Participate in staff meetings, center activities, and staff development.
- Have a vision and heart to teach God's word to preschoolers.
- Help instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, intellectual growth and spiritual awareness needed for primary school
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence and also meet the EEC requirements for professional development.
- Share in responsibility of insuring safety and cleanliness of the school area
- Participate in daily morning prayer session
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences
- Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline.
- Establish a positive relationship with HCP families.
- Responsible for assisting Director and teachers in implementing parent involvement activities.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills in assignments and interactions with staff and parents.
Experience, Education, and Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a High School Diploma. Teaching Certificate helpful.
- Must meet the preschool teacher certification requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care
- Must be in alignment with the vision and mission of the Preschool and Faith Community Church
- CPR and first aid certified or willing to become CPR certified
