Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with developmental delays
- Lead classroom activities that incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies such as behavioral therapy, instructional modifications, and curriculum development aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using standardized testing methods and adapt instruction accordingly
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share student progress, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships
- Integrate educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and facilitate literacy education, math skills development, and communication skills enhancement
Experience
- Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or elementary school settings, preferably within special education or preschool environments
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, behavior management for students with special needs, and classroom management techniques
- Familiarity with educational technology integration to support diverse learning styles and needs
