The Physical Education Teacher at Faith Christian Academy is a faith‑filled educator who partners with families to provide Christ‑centered education, integrating biblical truth, physical stewardship, and character formation. All instruction and conduct are expected to reflect and support the School’s Statement of Faith, mission, vision, and core values.
Consistent with long‑standing federal and state religious liberty protections for faith‑based schools, this position is classified as a ministerial role and requires a sincere Christian faith and lifestyle consistent with biblical teachings.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional & Program Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver age‑appropriate physical education curriculum for grades 7–12 that supports physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong health.
- Integrate biblical principles, character education, leadership, and respect for the body as God’s creation into daily instruction (1 Corinthians 6:19‑20).
- Use instructional practices aligned with ACSI accreditation standards, including clear objectives, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and encouraging learning environment; comply with all school, safety, and child‑protection policies.
Spiritual Leadership & Professional Conduct
- Model Christian character in speech, conduct, relationships, and lifestyle, serving as a role model for students (Luke 6:40).
- Participate in staff devotions, prayer, professional development, and ACSI‑supported training as assigned.
- Partner effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration in a spirit of unity and mutual respect.
Compliance & Program Accountability
- Fulfill all Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) requirements applicable to instructional staff, including participation in required training, testing coordination, and compliance with DPI rules affecting choice schools.
- Maintain records and documentation required for school accreditation (ACSI) and Wisconsin Council of Religious & Independent Schools (WCRIS) support services.
Required Qualifications
- Personal Christian faith with a clear testimony of salvation, active church involvement, and agreement with the School’s Statement of Faith.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Physical Education, Kinesiology, Education, or related field preferred).
- Eligible for or willing to obtain ACSI teacher certification (temporary or standard) within required timelines.
- Ability to lawfully work in the United States.
- Physical ability to demonstrate exercises, supervise activities, and ensure student safety.
Preferred / Strongly Encouraged Qualifications
- Prior teaching or coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin DPI expectations for private and choice schools.
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Coaching experience or willingness to support extracurricular athletics.
