Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in toddlers
- Supervise children closely to ensure safety at all times, adhering to child supervision best practices
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures
- Support children with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and hygiene practices
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized learning plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Use behavior management techniques to guide positive interactions and support social skills development
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in a classroom or daycare setting, including toddler care
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and understanding of mandated reporting laws
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a nurturing yet structured environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to handle child behavior management with patience and professionalism
- Familiarity with preschool curriculum planning and child development instruction techniques
