Job Summary
Faith Child Care and Nursery School is seeking a reliable, caring Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. In this role, you will support the lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging environment for our children. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children who are 8 weeks to 12 years of age. . Children are provided a quality, developmentally appropriate program based on New York State standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and early childhood development activities
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and stimulating environment for children
- Engage with children through interactive activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meal times, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being
- Foster positive communication with children, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative educational atmosphere
- Assist in documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records of daily activities and developmental milestones
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and families
- Ability to work well with young children in daycare or preschool settings, including toddlers and preschoolers
- At least one year's experience working with children less than 13 years of age.
