Duties
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading merchandise from the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure that all items are securely loaded to prevent damage during transit.
- Help navigate delivery routes and maintain an efficient schedule.
- Communicate effectively with the driver regarding delivery instructions and customer needs.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, handling items of various sizes and weights.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and during deliveries.
Skills
- Experience driving box trucks or vans is preferred.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday.
- Previous warehouse experience is a plus.
- Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures for various types of cargo.
- Comfortable using equipment such as pallet jacks for efficient handling of goods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
