Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable School Custodian to join our team. The School Custodian role is integral to the smooth and successful cleaning operations of the entire campus to include maintaining a clean and safe campus environment for our students and staff. They are heavily involved in supporting the safe, smooth and successful day-to-day operations of the school. 

The successful candidate is expected to be committed to and exemplify the values of the organization. These values are fundamental to creating and maintaining a positive environment for all individuals they engage with in the community and/or the school. 

The Custodian maintains a calm and professional demeanor at all times in a fast-paced and diverse school community. Ability to handle unpleasant situations is essential to this position. He or she is a team player who is able to adapt to change quickly and understands the importance of faithfulness in all things with an eye for attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls
• Disinfect commonly used items like lunchroom tables, desks, door handles, office tools and phones
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
• Clean and maintain restrooms
• Washing and clean windows and mirrors
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
• Dust furniture and fixtures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Willingness to submit to random drug screening
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of or willing to learn about various cleaning products and when to use them
• Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Good organization skills
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
• Excellent time-management skills
