We are currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Closer to join our team at our East Orlando Support Center. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and seamless closings that help members achieve their dream of homeownership.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Review loan files to ensure compliance with regulations and loan program requirements, including familiarity with security agreements and legal documents

• Acquire any documentation required for closing to meet conditions of rate lock and secondary market

• Prepare closing instructions and documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness of notes, security instruments, Closing Disclosures, Right to Cancel notices, and other compliance documents

• Verify that all closing, underwriting, and pre-funding conditions have been satisfied

• Calculate and balance funding wires; fund loans to the credit union financial core as needed

• Review and confirm loan terms with borrowers, ensuring all parties attend closing

• Coordinate closings with members, attorneys, title companies, and other third-party vendors

• Verify accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents such as title commitments, surveys, flood reports, and insurance

• Disburse funds for construction loans

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Minimum of 2 years of mortgage loan closing or related mortgage lending experience required

• Thorough understanding of mortgage loan documents, compliance requirements, and closing procedures

• Strong knowledge of TRID, RESPA, and other regulatory requirements impacting mortgage closings

• Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience with mortgage lending software preferred

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in legal and financial documents

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with members, attorneys, title companies, and other third-party vendors

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team
