Fairview Senior Living is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Director of Housekeeping and Laundry to lead our housekeeping and laundry departments.
Fairview Senior Living is a long-term care nursing community dedicated to serving older adults in a safe, caring, and respectful environment. This position is ideal for a strong leader who takes pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming community for our residents, families, and staff.
The Director of Housekeeping and Laundry will oversee the daily operations of both departments while supporting and working alongside the team as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading, supervising, and supporting housekeeping and laundry staff
- Hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating department employees
- Managing disciplinary actions and terminations when necessary
- Overseeing departmental payroll and staffing needs
- Ordering supplies and managing the department within the annual budget
- Ensuring resident rooms are prepared promptly for admissions, discharges, and room changes
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention throughout the community
- Building positive working relationships and maintaining open communication with managers, staff, residents, and families
- Participating as an active member of the Safety and Infection Control Committees
- Assisting with housekeeping and laundry duties when additional support is needed
- Responding effectively to changing priorities and operational needs
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong leadership and team-management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain organized and flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing schedules, payroll, supplies, and departmental budgets
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Previous housekeeping, laundry, environmental services, or healthcare leadership experience preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
- Long-term care or senior living experience preferred
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
