Supervisor - System Laboratory Staffing and Scheduling

Join our team as we expand our staffing and scheduling department, which currently supports both ambulatory and acute care hospital laboratories.

 

This role oversees staffing and scheduling operations across multiple laboratory settings and leads a growing team dedicated to streamlining processes and improving efficiency to ensure optimal staffing for quality patient care. The position primarily follows day shift hours but requires flexibility to connect with leaders who work evening and night shifts as needed.

The System Laboratory Staffing and Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for the execution of daily operations for the System Laboratory Staffing Team. Oversight of daily operations includes all staffing and scheduling functions (including but not limited to; master schedule creation and review, schedule production, changes to posted schedules, trades, accurate timekeeping and schedule edits, orientation schedules, near term recruitment, and daily staffing). This role is accountable for ensuring consistency in performance, process standards and technology used for staffing and scheduling workflows within the segmented work model as well as the site(s) they are supporting. This role is also responsible for supporting alignment in standard work across the laboratories supported by the System Laboratory Staffing Team. The System Laboratory Staffing and Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for completing Staffing Coordinator work as needed. The Supervisor will rotate to provide onsite/on-call coverage for escalation support of the Laboratory Staffing Team and as a resource to customers. This position requires regular travel to various laboratory sites to conduct team meetings and perform on-site evaluations, ensuring quality service and operational alignment across locations.


Responsibilities

• Provides daily supervision of the System Laboratory Staffing Team
• Assumes responsibility for the daily operations of the System Laboratory Staffing Department
• Assumes responsibility for Human Resource management
• Responsible for communication within the assigned areas.
• Assumes responsibility for compliance with internal and external regulations, policies and procedures
• Develops and maintains a healthy, supportive work environment, demonstrating behaviors consistent with service excellence

Required Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. or
• A.A./A.S. with 6 years’ relevant leadership experience.
• 2 years Experience with staffing and scheduling or healthcare.
• 1 year Formal or informal (mentor, trainer, lead) leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years Experience with staffing and scheduling or healthcare.
• Strong Excel and scheduling system experience.

Compensation Disclaimer

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within thisrange may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience,and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
