Job Overview

The Supervisor of Data Analytics is an important part of a team responsible for delivery, maintenance and support of Human Resource analytics solutions that enable Fairview Health Service’s ability to attract talent, engage talent, and retain talent so that the organization can deliver outstanding patient care, great patient experiences and efficient business processes.

 

This Supervisor is responsible for leading the team and overseeing the coordination, development and administration of the analytic platforms and systems, reporting improvements and data analysis. This Supervisor will be responsible for providing data platforms containing actionable insights to various operational and business stakeholders, designed by synthesizing knowledge of our services and products, and leveraging data assists. Oversees the review of released engineering assets and standard documentation activities to ensure adherence to the workflow process standards. This is a high impact role that requires a deep understanding of healthcare or human resource analytics, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment. This supervisor will guide a team of analytics professionals and will provide day-to-day direction on governed priorities. This role is responsible for providing input and solution for needs by partnership with the Data Analytics, IT, operational and business partners, and enterprise architecture.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for leading a team through planning, organizing, and execution of all Information Service functions related to data and technology. This includes meeting organizational requirements, supporting existing applications, as well as creating new and innovative solutions.
  • Responsible for looking after the work and performance of the HR Analytics and Reporting team data analysts, reporting and analytic development, and data visualization, working across the Data and Analytics teams.
  • Responsible for defining, prioritizing, and overseeing delivery of the strategic Human Resources capabilities required by the business function.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry and business knowledge and understanding of how the pragmatic consumption of data.
  • Partner with the business to understand their existing reports and opportunities for improvements. By collaborating with involved teams across the business and with vendor partners to estimate the scope of work and resulting cost associated effectively and accurately with project deliverables.
  • Create standards for data specifications, and tools supporting advanced consumption of data. Understand how information assets drive and support the business and maintain productive working relationships with business partners and project teams.
  • Consults with key leadership as to the best possible data and software-based technology solutions to implement while balancing other factors such as cost and skills, while maintaining high levels of data security and ensuring best practices across teams so that enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, practices, and methodologies.  Participate in the continuous improvement of methodologies, practices and standards as required.
  • Hold teams accountable for following and implementing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, ITIL and quality management framework for projects. 
  • Champions the project management of initiatives within the department and across the business; actively leads or participate in cross functional teams.
  • Serve as primary and/or back-up support for roles within the team when business need dictates.

  • Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5 years of previous reporting and data analytic experience
  • Experience leading teams or mentoring and/or managing complex projects
  • 3 years healthcare or human resource leadership, preferably in data analytics or information technology
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Knowledge/Skills: SQL, Business Objects including Crystal Reports and Business Intelligence tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Business Admin
  • M.A./M.S. MIS, MHA, or MPH
  • 5 years of previous related healthcare or human resource analytics experience
  • 1 year experience directly supervising a team.

Compensation Disclaimer

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within thisrange may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience,and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If yourrole is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
